Nirmal Hospital Pvt. Ltd. originally known as Nirmal Children's & General Hospital (NCGH)   is a 150 bedded multi speciality hospital in Surat . It provides comprehensive health care services, and has acquired the status of a premier medical institution in South Gujarat .

Nirmal Hospital Pvt. Ltd. owes its present form and status to a sapling implanted by the eminent pediatrician Dr. Nirmal Choraria in 1983 as Nirmal Children's Hospital. This Pediatric Hospital continued to develop and further expand to become the most well equipped and sophisticated tertiary care pediatric and neo natal center providing the critical care of the highest standard in South Gujarat . In 1988, the first Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Surat was installed, which was the first of its kind in western India and is now recognized as Level III PICU. In 1992, we further expanded our facility to 50 beds. Again in 1998, we increased the strength to 100 beds.

After 19 years of ceaseless efforts in his own Speciality Dr. Choraria developed a burning desire to provide modern and high quality medical care to the adult patients also. This desire was further stimulated and strengthened by the realization that development of modern medical facilities had not kept pace with the industrial development and population explosion in Surat .

With this objective in mind he established and commissioned the multi specialty medical services for adult patients on 26th October 2001 with a clear objective and firm commitment to provide to the patients of South Gujarat high quality medical facilities.

The hospital has increased its capacity to 150 beds in the same premises by constructing new building. In addition, the hospital has added four Operation Theaters, Surgical ICU, Dialysis Unit, Dental Department, Computer Assisted Surgery (CAS) Navigation System for joint replacement surgery and even planning to install CT Scan in near future. We are already in the process of planning a 300 beds hospital for which land has been acquired very close to existing hospital.We plan to commission the project within the next 3-4 years. It would be a super speciality hospital at a cost of Rs. 75 crore. Once the new hospital is commissioned, the present location would be used for running Nursing and Physiotherapy Colleges .

To part finance the expansion, the hospital is planning to go public. Out of the Rs. 75 crore investments that is required, Rs. 25 crore will be through promoters' contribution and the balance amount would be raised from financial institutions and through an IPO. After the IPO, the company will be named as "Nirmal Hospital Pvt. Ltd.". Through this expansion, we will keep providing whatever healthcare services the city of Surat needs to the best of our abilities.

We are conscious of our social obligation also. We organize free check-up and diagnostic camps in Surat and other economically backward remote areas for the benefit of needy. The hospital in association with SMILE TRAIN (USA) and Harsiddhi Medical Trust, Surat has launched a project for free surgical treatment to patients suffering from cleft lip and palate. The hospital also considers providing concessional and subsidized medical treatment without any compromise to the deserving.
